The Amdeya Group
Mr. Alameddine has been appointed as Executive Chairman of the AMDEYA Group. The AMDEYA Group advises financial institutions in the MENA and Turkey region.
Before joining AMDEYA, Mr. Alameddine had a distinguished career in international banking, banking supervision, and consulting. He served more than 20 years with Citibank in New York, London, Istanbul, Athens, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Amman. He was the first CEO of Saudi American Bank in Istanbul. He was then appointed Chairman of Lebanon’s Banking Control Commission, the country’s supervisory authority. The strength of Banking supervision during his tenure was a major factor in Lebanon’s banking system being seen as a “safe haven” in the midst of the global financial crisis of 2008-2009, where the country also witnessed the largest inflow of outside deposits in its history. Mr. Alameddine later joined a global consulting group, Promontory, where he was CEO for MENA and Turkey from 2011 to June 2019.
Mr. Alameddine earned a BA in economics from the American University of Beirut, and an MA from Rutgers in New Jersey. He also attended several executive programs at the INSEAD and Harvard. Mr. Alameddine has lectured on banking management and supervision in several countries, and has written a book on banking supervision.
